Anderson Expeditions is built on a deep knowledge and understanding of the countries, locations, properties, people and logistics to which our guests travel. We have built, opened and operated lodges, trained and managed guiding teams and personally led safaris and expeditions for the past 20 years. In addition to the trips we lead each year we also personally travel to and meticulously research new lodges, experiences and destinations in order to broaden our offerings to our guests.
We are a team of people passionate about the wild areas of Africa and South America and love nothing more than planning travel to these places for our guests.
Guides | Properties | People
We use only the best guides, lodges, camps and ground operating teams with, very importantly, the best people. We pride ourselves on the relationships we’ve built with our partners and this allows us to deliver the exceptional experiences our guests are there for.
We choose locations and lodges based on our clients’ specific needs only. We do not enter into incentive agreements with any operators.
You do not pay a higher price to book your safari with Anderson Expeditions than you would if you booked directly with each property as well as each logistical link over an itinerary.
We make our money via commission agreements with all our partners. The value you receive by booking with AE is the experience and knowledge of all the properties, locations and countries – when, where and why to go. We pride ourselves on our thoughtful and detailed service to our discerning travelers – and personally lead our guests through the trip design, booking, lead up and travel phases. The long-standing relationships with our partners as well as our own travel experiences allows us to offer deeply insightful suggestions and recommendations that make the travel experience all the more exceptional – from which room offers the best view to the best additional activities to consider, and all else in between.
Conservation and Community
Contributing to conservation and community upliftment in the regions we operate is critically important to us, and one of the primary reasons we take guests on safari and expedition. We only partner with safari operators who have a proven track record in protecting and enhancing biodiversity and sustainably involving and uplifting the regions people. For every guest on a specialist Expedition, Anderson Expeditions donates a specific amount directly to our Conservation Partner in that area.
The safety of our guests, guides and team is the single most important factor when designing and leading safaris and expeditions. We work with our partners and travelers to comprehensively prepare for and manage inherent or unexpected risk associated with travel to our destinations.
Why Anderson Expeditions
Our service to you
Because you want to get into some of the greatest wilderness spaces on the planet and experience a safari or expedition of a lifetime – watch the great migration cross the Mara river, scan Andean peaks for a Condor or watch a leopard lazing in a tree.
A personalised and private travel experience. Every safari is designed to meet the expectations of and fulfil the specific interests and needs of our guests. We have never arranged two identical safaris.
We have travelled to every location and lodge we include in our itineraries and have personally lived the experiences we share with you. We are bush-lovers and adventure seekers and approach the design of our guests’ travel from that perspective, first and foremost.
Our Expeditions are unique, custom-designed small group trips into remote wilderness areas.
“The trip was epic! Ngala was great and Cape Town was amazing. We saw the big 5, the sharks and Cape Town. The guest house in Cape Town was incredible — we will definitely return to SA as soon as we can.”
- Erica and Luis Miguel Ferraro, Peru
“Thanks for an awesome trip to Uganda - we both had a superb time and the 'bucket list item' lived up to all expectations and more. We hope to rely on your expertise for many more trips in future.”
- Paul and Kim Kennedy, Johannesburg
“Richard, I can’t stop thinking about how fabulous our Tanzania trip was. I was in full depression for about a week after I got back. I'm so ready to plan another trip to Africa.
Thank you again for the most wonderful trip ever!”
- Kristina McGehee and Steve Heinzer, Los Angeles
