Leopard Mania in Botswana

I have just returned from an epic safari to Botswana. Exploring the country’s northern waterways and Okavango Delta in the late dry season is always such a treat as you’re guaranteed big congregations of thirsty animals drawn to the little water remaining. The predators are, of course, finely tuned to the seasonal movements of their prey.

The predator most in the limelight on this expedition was undoubtedly the leopard. We had numerous sightings throughout the safari (which covered the Vumbura concession in the Okavango Delta, the Khwai river and Mombo in the heart of the Delta ), from very young cubs to one of the largest males I’ve seen.
