The Pafuri Walking Trail

The Pafuri Walking Trail

The Pafuri Walking Trail

As we usher in the new year we look ahead to another exciting walking safari season in the exquisite Makuleke concession in the Pafuri region of the Kruger National Park. Typically our walking trails start in early May and run until the heavy heat and rains herald the start of a new summer in late October. The 4 night trail is one of the great wilderness experiences (we think!) as intrepid trailists explore secret mountain springs, the Levuvhu and Limpopo rivers and floodplains, Crooks Corner, fever tree and jackalberry forests and the exquisite pan systems, all full of water and life. Long walks with time spent birding from the shade at pan edges, sundowners in the Limpopo riverbed and at Lanner Gorge and well-earned down time in the trails camp combine to create an unscripted, authentic and wild experience in the spectacular northern Kruger.
